We’ve incorporated a new technology that will greatly enhance your viewing experience by providing you a more adaptive, faster stream whenever you rent a movie from the PlayStation Store on PlayStation 3. But, before we roll out with our entire catalog, we want to test the technology out and get your opinion. For a limited time, we’re discounting some HD and SD movie titles. Check them out and let us know what you think.

Here’s how to cash in on the deal and help us out along the way:

  1. Log on to the PlayStation Store on your PS3.
  2. Scroll down to the Movies section where you will immediately find our beta test in the first section.
  3. Rent one of the five movies for only $1.99 in HD or 99¢ in SD.
  4. Fill out the brief survey that will be emailed to you after you purchase and watch the movie.

Tell your friends to try it out too, and keep up-to-date by joining us on Twitter and Facebook.

Great news – the Music Unlimited service’s Android application version 1.6.2 is now live and ready for users to download!  The update brings back High Quality Audio to your Android smartphone and tablet apps including the new Xperia Z devices.

The update gives the option of selecting High Quality Audio streaming in the app’s settings menu, allowing playback of music in 320 kbps AAC high fidelity audio on Android devices.  HQ Audio is also accessible on the Music Unlimited service’s web, PlayStation 3, and Sony Android Walkman apps that we’re updated earlier this year.

We again would like to apologize for any inconvenience that resulted from our previous issues with the v1.6.0 and v1.6.1 Android updates.  We hope you’ll enjoy High Quality Audio playback!

Hello everyone.  First and most importantly, we’d like to extend our sincere apologies for the recent issues surrounding the Music Unlimited service’s Android smartphone and tablet application.  We’re working as fast as we can to fix the app.

During our most recent version 1.6 and 1.6.1 updates providing access to High Quality Audio, a bug was discovered that caused some users to receive a “cannot connect to the server” message.  We’ve been working to develop a fix, but the process is taking longer than we anticipated.  At this point, we have rolled the Android application version back to 1.5.3 to restore service for those having issues.

If you are having a problem, please update the Music Unlimited Android application when you are prompted.  If you are not prompted, please visit Google Play, download and install the app.  Unfortunately, with this update, your Android device will not be able to access High Quality Audio that was part of the version 1.6 and 1.6.1 updates.  The High Quality Audio feature will be restored when we can correct the bug and issue an update.

Meanwhile, High Quality Audio can still be accessed from the Music Unlimited service’s PC application and the PS3.

Again, we would like to offer our deepest apologies and will update you as soon as a fix has been issued. Thanks for your patience!
