You’ve already trick or treated and gorged on turkey, so now you should no longer feel guilty about drinking that peppermint latte. It’s officially December which means it’s time to turn the holiday tunes up to 11.
This year, the Music Unlimited service is thrilled to bring you not one, not two, but three brand new Holiday channels, available now in the premium channels section. We feel these three categories give you a wide range of ways to celebrate, from classics to contemporaries. We’ll talk more in depth about each of them later on in the month, but for now, get to know these festive options:
The greatest modern holiday releases, featuring Michael Buble, Mariah Carey, She & Him, Rod Stewart and more.
Jingle Bell Rock
Where Holiday cheer meets loud guitars, featuring Blink 182, Twisted Sister, The Killers, Bruce Springsteen and more.
Holiday classics for the most wonderful time of the year, featuring Bing Crosby, Etta James, BB King, Nat King Cole and more.
It’s crunch time, people. If you haven’t decided between Katniss and Miley or Walter White and “The Fox,” you better get on it. Everyone knows that Halloween falls on the 31st, but everything unofficially kicks off this “Halloweekend” to get the most out of the holiday with parties and activities for these non-school nights. And admit it, you’ve been watching horror movies and sneaking fun-sized candy since early October.
The Music Unlimited service is helping kickstart the festivities with our new Halloween Channel, now available in the premium channels section. We’ve featured some of the classics like “Monster Mash,” “Weird Science,” & The Ghostbusters Theme Song. However, we also have some unconventionally “Halloween,” songs like “Thriller,” “I Want Candy” & “Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites.”
We hope this channel will get you in the spirit for the next week of costumes, haunted houses and sugar rush. Have fun and be safe!
We are well into Rocktober, an officially unofficial opportunity to head bang & shred air guitar across multiple rock genres thanks to the month’s convenient name. This year, we’re excited to celebrate with the world’s biggest heavy metal label, Nuclear Blast Records, who provided us with an essential list of tracks from their roster. You can listen now on the Nuclear Blast Records Channel in the premium channels section of the Music Unlimited service.
Founded in 1987, this highly-respected label has an all-star collection of bands that have shaped the heavy metal scene including Sepultura, Meshuggah & Children of Bodom. Alongside those legends, the channel also features tracks from recently released albums like Soulfly, Death Angel & Carcass as well as singles on upcoming records by Within Temptation, Kataklysm & more.

Today’s the day! The newest iteration of the world-famous video game series Grand Theft Auto is here, with Grand Theft Auto V now available for you to play on your PlayStation 3. It has become not only an icon in the gaming world for its signature style and rabid following, but it has also made a big impact on music as well. Every game features a set of radio stations, curated for whatever mood you’re in while playing, evolving to be one of the biggest causes of chatter leading up to release. What songs will be on it? What will the DJs say? All of it has become an important part of the fabric of Grand Theft Auto series.
Today, the Music Unlimited service is proud to release the Grand Theft Auto Channel, available in the premium channels section of the service. The channel features dozens of tracks that have been part of the series, from compilations to specific radio stations and more. Re-live the soundtrack to some of your favorite GTA moments now!

It’s about that time, students. Over the next few weeks, many of you will be dusting off your calculators and getting back to class. After a summer of sleep and limited responsibility, it may take some time to get your brain motivated for another year of learning. Fortunately for you, the Music Unlimited service is here to help.
Now available in the premium channels section is the new Back to School Channel, featuring songs hand-picked to inspire you with all the things that await you this school year. We took the theme pretty literally, with songs like “Be True to Your School,” (The Beach Boys) “ABC,” (Jackson 5) and “School Spirit,” (Kanye West). However, we also remind you that “We Are Going to Be Friends,” (The White Stripes) no matter if you’re “Fifteen” (Taylor Swift) or “Going Away to College” (Blink-182). If you’re “Popular” (Nada Surf) or not, “You Can’t Judge a Book,” (Rick Springfield) if you’re just “Trying to Be Cool” (Phoenix). Just stay out of trouble so you don’t end up in the “Principal’s Office” (Young MC) and certainly “Don’t Be a Dropout” (James Brown).
So hunker down on that homework you “Bookworm,” (Margot and the Nuclear So & So’s) and get listening to the channel. Have a great school year!
Hey, hey, hey! By now, you’ve almost certainly heard the infectious summer single “Blurred Lines,” from Robin Thicke, the R&B singer/songwriter with six albums under his belt and now his biggest commercial hit yet. Yesterday, he released the full album under the same name, following a whirlwind of appearances on The Today Show and BBC Radio 1. Later this year, he has plans for handful of dates in the US before jumping to the UK early next year.
To celebrate this exciting time, he put together a list of his favorite songs for the Music Unlimited service in the new Robin Thicke Artist Picks Channel, now available. Hear tracks from Daft Punk, A$AP Rocky, Emeli Sande, J. Cole, Imagine Dragons & more alongside Blurred Lines songs like “4 the Rest of My Life,” “Top of the World” and “Good Life.”

It’s hard to believe, but with the start of summer comes the halfway point of the year as we round the corner on 2013. Every year we collect our “Best Of” tracks around the holiday season, comprised of our staff picks and top-played tracks, but this year we are adding something little different. This Saturday, the Toronto-based Arts & Crafts will be officially celebrating their 10 year anniversary at Field Trip Music & Arts Festival at Fort York and Garrison Common. We’ve sent one lucky winner up to enjoy the festival and we will be on site all day catching sets from the bands that defined the influential record label, including Feist, Stars, Dan Mangan and Broken Social Scene (performing You Forgot It In People in its entirety! Eeek!)
While Field Trip is the “senior prom” of the year-long celebration, A&C has been commemorating the occasion with a series of albums compiling their marquee artist’s iconic songs and original collaborations, including Feist x Timber Timbre, Amy Millan x Dan Mangan, Chilly Gonzales x Stars and more. We’ve gathered these anniversary tracks in the Arts & Crafts: 2003 – 2013 Channel, available now in the premium channels section of the Music Unlimited service.
These artists not only made Arts & Crafts what they are today, but have made a significant impact on the indie rock scene worldwide. Listen to it now and keep an eye out for more from the festival this weekend!

In the ever-changing ebb and flow of the music industry, you often have to scream and shout to shift attention to your band, let alone an entire roster. There are few record labels that define entire genres of music, widely trusted for both their catalog and new artists, but on the short list is definitely Roadrunner Records. The hard rock powerhouse recently released a solid slate of albums to kick off 2013, including Killswitch Engage, Stone Sour and Airbourne and we’re celebrating with a collection of tracks from those albums and them and the rest of the catalog in the Roadrunner Records Channel. Find it now in the premium channels section of the Music Unlimited service.
Founded in 1980 as a way to import North American albums into Europe, they soon expanded into offices across the globe. They made a huge impact on 80’s metal, including being credited for pivotal albums from King Diamond, Life of Agony, Obituary, Sepultura, Machine Head and Type O Negative. In recent years they’ve broadened their genre horizons, including releases from Young the Giant, Korn and Nickelback; alongside the new class of metal like The Devil Wears Prada and Kvelertak.
We’ll dive more into their catalog in tomorrow’s #ThrowbackThursday, but for now sit back and enjoy the channel!
