Taylor Swift shut out? That’s just one of the big surprises coming out of last night’s 46th Country Music Awards ceremony.
Hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, the show’s highlights included performances by many nominees, including a duet by Kelly Clarkson and Vince Gill and a Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Willie Nelson.
Meanwhile Blake Shelton won twice, despite not having a new album this year – at least not until Cheers It’s Christmas. Shelton took home both the Male Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year, with the latter likely helped by his presence as a judge/coach on The Voice. And his wife Miranda Lambert added some hardware of her own as she took home Female Vocalist of the Year honors.
Who else won?
Entertainer of the Year: Blake Shelton
Female Vocalist of the Year: Miranda Lambert
Male Vocalist of the Year: Blake Shelton
New Artist of the Year: Hunter Hayes
Vocal Group of Year: Little Big Town
Vocal Duo of the Year: Thompson Square
Single of the Year: “Chief” – Eric Church
Song of the Year: “Over You” – Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton
